Your application must include

  • A statement (200 words max) about the nature of your work

  • A proposal (300 words max) outlining what you hope to achieve, what new things you wish to experiment with (technically and/or conceptually) and how you would leverage the opportunity for further development of your career

  • A PDF File of your Curriculum Vitae (2 pages max)

  • A PDF File with up to 10 images of indicative work

Applicants must be permanent residents or citizens of Australia or New Zealand and must have a demonstrated professional practice as an artist working with glass of at least 8 years.

Notes

  1. The glass-blowing sessions can be split across the weeks or undertaken in a more concentrated period. The Head of JamFactory’s Glass Studio will appoint one highly skilled blowing assistant and one Associate assistant based on information provided in the successful applicant’s proposal.

  2. JamFactory’s on-site apartment is located on the first floor of the building and is suitable for an individual or couple. South Australian applicants should consider the opportunity to stay in the apartment to maximise the immersive experience.

  3. The workspace, with bench, stool and storage space, will be in the non-public part of the Glass Studio but accessible to other users of the studio to foster interaction and enquiry.

  4. For any specific details about the JamFactory Glass Studio facilities and equipment, applicants should contact Head of Studio, Kristel Britcher for more information.

  5. Return flights and transfers or costs related to car travel to and from Adelaide.

  6. Freight via JamFactory’s regular surface transport contractor up to a maximum value of $1,000. Costs beyond this or costs relating to any specialist transport requirements will be the responsibility of the artist.

  7. Program will be tailored to interests of recipient and will include: hosted visits to South Australian regions (i.e. the Barossa); special access to public collections in South Australia; glass community BBQ; and a celebration/wrap up event.
