International Year of Glass 2022

2022 is the United Nations International Year of Glass!

On the 18th May 2021, the United Nations General Assembly formally approved a resolution declaring the year 2022 as the International Year of Glass to celebrate the heritage and importance of this material. Since 1959, the General Assembly of the United Nations has designated specific years as United Nations International Years to acknowledge fields of international endeavour and the importance of their contributions to global society.

The celebrations began in February with a 2 day opening event at the Palace of Nations in Geneva featuring 30 speakers and streamed to audiences worldwide. You can visit the United Nations Website to watch various presentations and events.

A program of activities and events will be happening around the world across 2022 including the FUSE Glass Prize.
